The ladder and top scoring rankings have also been updated under Statistics.

Please note the following reminder. As per regular season regulations (S. 6.4 and subs), during the first 3 games of the season, fill-in scores count towards the total team score for the match. This arrangement was previously established to enable the team forming process, which usually been a bit slow, to take place.

During the remainder of the season (after the first 3 games) Fill-in players are allowed to shoot for goal but their score will not count towards the team’s total points. Determining this is the scoring Duty member’s responsibility. The referee will indicate the score and the Duty member will ensure the scores are noted in the fill-in section on the scoring sheet.

At no time during the season will fill-in scores count towards that player’s top scoring ranking, nor will a player be eligible for Best and Fairest votes when filling in. Fill-In names should always be written down on the bottom two rows (pre-fixed 1 and 2) of each team section on the scoresheet.

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.
