Last Come & Try

A reminder, tomorrow night 9 Feb will be the second and last Come & Try night (7:45pm start) before the start of Season 1. Newcomers are welcome (fins will be available as usual) and so will existing players who are looking for a practice/scratch match.

As mentioned previously, the regular season will start on 16 Feb and will field 8 teams. If you haven’t yet (e.g. are waiting for this final come & try night), Captains please make sure you’ve sent your updated team sheets to Kath by email before season start.

As in previous seasons, fill-ins may score in the first 3 rounds (see rules here), which will give teams the opportunity to settle into their final form (if it changes, again, send the updated sheet to Kath before round 4). The roster for those first 3 rounds will be published shortly, with the aim no later than Monday. In any case, since there are no byes, all teams should assume they are playing next week Thursday.

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.
