BYE Swordfish

The ladder and top scoring rankings have also been updated under Statistics. Note, that a BYE counts as a win, without points for/against % implications. Each team will have 2 byes, ensuring fair (end of season) ladder positions.

Please note that, as usual, as of round 4 stricter fill-in rules apply (than in the first 3 rounds). The main differences are:

  • A team must play with at least 4 of its own players or forfeit the game. Note that in case of a forfeit, the available players can choose to play a scratch match or if no match is played, you are entitled to free entry when playing the next round (talk to THAC reception).
  • A maximum of 2 fill-in players may be added, but their scores won’t count and they are not eligible for best & fairest points. Their names must be added into the Fill-ins section of the score sheet, not the regular player section.

Please read (at least the Captains) the details in Section 6 of the Regulations. Should you have any questions after reading those, please ask one of the umpires or a board member well before the game starts.

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.
