2014 Season Roster

The roster for the first season of 2014 has been finalised and can be viewed on the Roster page. Umpires have been confirmed for this season and have been scheduled for the first 3 rounds. The complete umpiring roster will be posted in the next few weeks. There will be an Umpires meeting at 6:45pm before the games of Round 2 (20 Feb), for which John will email the details to the confirmed umpires.

To avoid any misunderstandings and to improve the flow of the game we’d like to request that all players read the Regulations. Besides regular game play rules, one section particularly specific to the first 3 rounds of the season is section 6.4 regarding fill-ins. Especially all Captains should review this, since a good understanding of this (and the other rules) will benefit your team.

As usual, each game relies on the (appreciated) assistance of the Duty Teams. To make the games run smoothly and ensure that we don’t lose any of our equipment due to misplacement, please review the Duty Team instructions.

Hopefully you will all be enjoying (another) season of Water Basketball. For anyone, but in particular those just starting, if you have any questions feel free to ask a Board member.

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.
