The Semi Finals game/duty/umpiring roster has been published on the Roster page.

Brush up on your understanding of the Regulations (in particular Sections 3.4 and 6.7) and if there are any special arrangements to be made for your team (fill-ins etc), please do so as soon as possible with the captain of the opposing team and a member of the Board.

After the finals

As you may have heard, from 1 July this year Water Basketball Tasmania will become an independent sports organisation (DKHAC will no longer recognise Water Basketball as one of their Programs). As part of that we are required to become an incorporated association, establish a constitution, acquire public liability insurance and work through a host of other changes.

From the perspective of the players not much of this will be visible, but you will see a change in the way you pay your registration fee. We’re currently still considering whether to arrange payment by player or per team and are finalising the budget for next season. We can already confirm that the cost will remain the same as it has been for previous seasons ($9.50 per game); it will just have to be paid up front (either per player or per team, to be determined).

There will be no Social Roster this year, since due to its lower number we can no longer afford the pool hire. The next regular season remains scheduled as detailed on the latest year planner, commencing 28 July. I’ll be in touch, either via the website or through the captains, well before then to provide further information, outline the final registration process and obtain team commitments. As you will understand, now that we are required to pay for pool space regardless of how many people are actually playing we will have to ensure that the sums add up before the season starts (so a process we’ll need to go through before each season). Hopefully these necessary changes won’t affect team and player numbers since, besides the fact that it’s great to see the sport thrive and everyone having a good time, we’ll need everyone to keep it afloat.

Good luck to those in the semi finals 🙂

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.

Hi, I think it should be the brothers playing clownfish next week and pink pirates going straight to the grand final?
