Congratulations to the Championship winners of Division 1, The Nuts and of Division 2, Pink Pirates! The winners of the Individual Awards will be announced during the end-of-season Winter Water Basketball Dinner.

If you haven’t already, please make sure you RSVP ASAP to me (Dave) and your payment either directly into the Water Basketball bank account (details provided in email to captains) or to your captain to then transfer on.

To repeat from previous posts, the email with details regarding the Winter Water Basketball Dinner has been sent to the captains. They should have forwarded the details to their players for RSVP, so if you haven’t received anything yet then get in touch with your captain asap.

  • The Dinner will be at 7:00pm on the 1st of July at the Ball & Chain’s upstairs function room.
  • The cost is $35 per head to be paid in advance and the menu is a choice (decide/order on the night) of:
    • Chargrilled smoked half chicken – hot smoked and finished on the chargrill and served with a black cherry chutney.
    • Lamb shank – A chunky shank served on potato mash enhanced with a tasty rosemary and red wine sauce.
    • Tasmanian Atlantic salmon – Chargrilled with hollandaise sauce.
    • Porterhouse – It has a fine texture and its taste is boosted by the open grill.
    • We didn’t confirm a vegetarian option but this is simply all you want from the salad bar for about $15. If anyone wants this option then we suggest they just confirm their attendance and then pay on the night to keep it simple.
  • Drinks can be purchased separately at the upstairs bar.

RSVP and payments ASAP please (captains, please forward your RSVPs to me and any payments to the water basketball account).

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.
