Round 8 Cancelled

DKHAC contacted me with some bad news; unfortunately they have a major issue with one of the pipes leading into the dive pool that requires an urgent major fix. Parts are due to arrive late Wednesday meaning that the dive pool will need to be closed for the entire day of Thursday the 20th September and possibly Friday. If these works are not undertaken ASAP the dive pool may be out for longer.

I’ve presented a number of options to the captains via email today and we agreed on cancelling next week’s games (round 8/20 Sep) completely, which was the least of all negatives. The consequences of this are that not every team plays each team twice and there is slightly less bang for buck for each player, depending on how your team arranged the fees. Note that we will retain the funds and put that towards equipment, which then benefits all anyway.

About Water Basketball Tasmania
Water Basketball is a sport developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre. It involves two teams of 6 players, who pass the ball down the pool to their goal end, which is a hoop similar to basketball. Each player wears flippers (and a cap to identify which team they are playing for). Goals are scored as two or three points depending how far from the goals you are.
