Weekly Rule Highlight

Timekeeper and Scorers

8.1 The Time keeper must start the game timer in accordance with instructions from the umpires and in accordance with Section 9.3.

8.2 The Time keeper must keep track of time and audibly signal the commencement of the last minute of each period to all players and umpires.

8.3 The Time keeper shall audibly signal the end of each period to the umpire and their signal shall take immediate effect except:

8.3.1 In the case of a simultaneous award by the umpire of a penalty throw, in which case the penalty throw shall be taken in accordance with the Rules.

8.3.2 If the ball is in flight when time is called, and subsequently passes through the goal hoop, in which event the resultant points shall be awarded.

8.4 The Scorer is responsible for maintaining an accurate record of the game including the players (verify that names/numbers were entered correctly on the sheet), the score and gross misconduct fouls (written on back of sheet) awarded against each player.

Weekly Rule Highlight

Field of Play and Equipment

The Water Basketball Court

1.1 The organisation co-ordinating Water Basketball shall be responsible for providing all fixtures and equipment.

1.2 The layout and markings of the pool shall be in accordance with the Diagram above.

1.3 Distinctive markings or witches hats shall be provided denoting the 3 metre area (a.k.a. ‘Key’), 3 point/5 metre line and the half-way line.

1.4 Lane ropes with coloured markers shall be placed at the side of the pool, to indicate the “Exclusion / Substitution” area.

1.5 Sufficient space shall be provided to enable the umpires to have free movement along the side-line.

1.6 A standard set of goal posts are provided for each game, one set at each end of the pool.

The Board & Helpers

We Need assistance with running our Game.  Kyle is cutting back on the time he contributes to the Board and only wants to pay the Bills.  We Need Assistance!  Kyle will be getting a letter together to explain what areas we need help with.

• Stats Controller – Weekly Data input ( Brett Ring / one more Trained )
  • Creating the Next Seasons Roster
  • Updating Players with Team Information sheet

We have always talked about getting some kind of fund raisers and money help with Pool hire, Caps, Advertisement, and especially Awards.

Grand Finals

Another successful Season, This Seasons winner is Beached Az.  A very well played match indeed.

Have a Look at the Championships! We have a new line up. We have Removed the Divisions and Added the Wooden Spoons.

2022 – S1 Results R11 – Quarter Finals

Grand Finals

Next week we have our Grand Final. The Clownfish will take on the mighty Beached Az.  This Game Kicks off at 7:45 at the Dive Pool.  It would be nice for all Umpires to attend to assist so we can get full coverage of the pool.  Other Teams would be great to come cheer the Teams on.

Season Dinner

Date & Time – Thursday 30^th of June at 7pm

Location – Fox Friday Tap Room (Murray St)

All Teams past and Present are more than welcome.

Next Season

Please start looking at getting your teams organized and ready to go!  Our plan to start next season July 14 with our Come and Try Night.  Followed by Round 1 on July 21^st.   Please send your revised Team Information Sheet on / before the Come Night. We would like to finalize our Teams and get a Roster together before I head out on Holidays.

Finals
Second Round of Finals next week.  We have decided to give the Sisters one last game next week in a play off against Ducks Out of Water for 4th and 5th at 8:30pm. This is after the 7:45pm quarter final play off to see who out of Sharks and Clownfish will face Beached Az in the Grand Final.   

Dinner

Would like to get a feel from the Teams for the Annual Dinner on the 30th of June and see if the Teams would like to have one this Season and get an idea of expressions of interest. Let your captains know if you are keen. Past teams are more than welcome but need to contact us.

First Round of Finals next week.  A bit of a hard Season keeping numbers but managed to pull it off.  Get in the Chat room soon if you need to organize your teams.

Grand finals WOW! I might add that the B Grade was a bit more action packed than the A Grade Finals.  The A Grade Final was bit of a nail biter as each quarter was tied and went straight to Overtime.  Well done Beached As holding your own with only 5 players in the water, and congratulations on the Nuts on their win. A Great match to watch!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, We will post dates once we lock in dates for next Season. Please stay safe as we enter a new interesting new year with the open boarders in December. Hopefully we have no impact on our sport in the New Year.
